Give those weary legs some respite and book an extra night to explore some of the attractions along the Camino Frances!
Santiago de Compostela: The final destination of all the Camino de Santiago routes offers much more than just the famous cathedral with its shrine to St. James. Explore the squares and narrow streets of Santiago’s Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site considered to be one of the world's most beautiful urban areas.
Sarria: Discover the medieval atmosphere in the attractive old quarter of this ancient town of Celtic origins or take a short taxi ride to visit the nearby, famous 6th century monastery of Samos. Sarria has been one of the major stops on the Camino de Santiago since the middle ages and is an important starting point for pilgrims at a distance of just over 100km from Santiago.
Melide: This charming little market town lies about halfway between Sarria and Santiago de Compostela. In the medieval town centre with its narrow, winding streets you will find shops, bars and restaurants where you can try the local speciality of ‘pulpo’ (octopus) in one of the traditional ‘pulperias’.
