From your point of arrival, use the public transport information we provide to make the journey to Oughterard.

DAY 2: Oughterard - Maam Valley

26km • 6 - 8 hours • (↑) 190m

A long, relatively flat, walk follows quiet country roads out of Oughterard alongside the shores of Lough Corrib - an internationally renowned fishing destination. After passing the lake, you cross some scenic bogland typical of the local area before finishing your walk in the Maamturk Mountains.

DAY 3: Maam Valley - Leenane

30km • 7 - 9 hours • (↑) 350m

Those leg muscles will be put to the test this morning as you climb upwards to Máméan Pass (the pass of the birds). At the top of the pass, there is a wonderful surprise. (You will have to visit to find out!) The trail finishes along a beautiful old track overlooking Ireland's only fjord.

DAY 4: Leenane - Drummin (Option A)

21km • 5 - 8 hours • (↑) 560m

Leaving Connemara behind, you now enter the highlands of South Mayo and the scenery
